The winter cometh.
-
It's been a while since I updated my blog, however I have been busy weather wise and keeping an eye on the charts as to what this winter may bring us. Before we get onto the winter lets look at what has been happening through October.Latest reports indicate that New Zealanders shivered through the coldest October in 64 years. In its climate summary for the month, the Niwa said the average temperature nationwide was 1.4degC below average.Such a cold October has occurred only four times in the past 100 years, the last time in 1945.Meanwhile October was the third coldest in the last 115 years for the USA. Only Florida came out above normal. That makes October 2009 in the USA almost 4 degrees F colder than the 20th century October average. Or to put it another way – the third coldest on record or the 111th warmest since 1901. Interestingly temperatures continue to cool even though CO2 continues to rise. Now onto the winter. Let me say the world is continuing to cool – and looking at solar output – that is very low with also very low particle and wind output too. Never mind limiting CO2 at this months coming conference – they won't need to. What will they do when they admit it is getting colder? Beg us to pour out as much CO2 as possible. The biggest con to me has to be the Global warming religion. All I can say is they are in for a big shock within the next ten years with the world continuing to cool. This bring me back to the winter – this winter will be one to shiver in. I expect winter to be much colder than we are used to as a whole in the Northern Hemisphere – although much more notable in Eastern Europe – Canada – and the North USA. Don't for a minute think that the UK is off the hook though – it isn't – and you can expect the winter in the UK to make many headlines for the media. I will post again as we start into winter to give an update. For now whatever you are doing – keep warm:-)
